  1. Kia Ora Angel,

I’m Dani, one of the bloggers here at the Summer Learning Journey. I’m down in Auckland while I’m at university but I call our family farm in Okaihau, my home. Thank you for sharing your pepeha with us. It’s a great way to learn more about you, your whanau and the places that are important to you. Your aunty has taken a beautiful photo of your maunga. I have never been to this part of Northland but I think I need to come and see the beauty of this place myself, when I am next up north.

I look forward to reading more of your blogs soon!

  3. Hey Angel,

Kapowai is beautiful! I would love to visit there someday, it looks very idyllic, I wonder what the air smells like there.. I think it’s a wonderful thing to be able to share your lineage and birthright so thank you for letting us get to know you a little bit more.

Ka pai tō mahi! I love your posts, don’t forget to comment on other blogs to not only encourage others but also earn some extra points!

    Toe feiloa’i fo’i,

  4. Kia ora Angel my name is Mahana I go to Paihia School and I am a Year Five. Your pepeha reminds me of when I had to do my pepeha in front of Te Maunga and Te Ngahere at my school.Your pepeha is in a different order to how I did my pepeha. How long did it take you to write your pepeha?

  5. Kia Ora Angel, Ko Katipa toku ingoa rau ako Paihia toku kura.
Anyways, I liked your pepeha because unlike primary we only learn our iwi, hapu, marae, waka, awa and maunga.
But it looks like there’s more to learn, while looking at yours.
This reminds me of how challenging it was when I learnt about my siblings because I got trouble when it says that your teina is a younger sibling but same gender.
was it hard memorising your pepeha because the words looked a little hard to pronounce? Also “Whiti te Tupuna” I kind of don’t understand because is that one your ancestors or something different?
